A false fire alarm at a Forestville child-care centre, a motorcycle crash and several reports of vandalism were among the incidents that brought emergency services out during the first half of August.
The month began with a Sunday afternoon call-out to a child-care centre on Warringah Road, where firefighters from Forestville Station responded to an alarm shortly after 12.45pm on 2 August.
There was no fire. Crews traced the alarm to a fault, reset the system and contacted the servicing company so repairs could be arranged.
By Tuesday morning, attention had shifted to Darley Street, near Cannons Parade, after a car and motorcycle collided shortly before 8.00am.
Paramedics treated the motorcycle rider, a woman in her 50s, at the scene before taking her to Northern Beaches Hospital with minor injuries. She was reported to be in a stable condition.
Two Reports Along Warringah Road
Warringah Road appeared again in police reports over the next few days, this time for property damage.
Police received a vandalism report shortly before 4.45pm on Wednesday, 5 August, followed by another from the same road shortly after 11.30am the next day.
A week later, officers were back on Warringah Road after being called shortly before 4.45pm on Thursday, 13 August, to assist with a person reported to be intoxicated.
The final incident recorded in this mid-month snapshot came from Lurnea Crescent, where property was reported vandalised shortly after midday on Friday, 14 August.
