The Forestville Book Fair will return to Forestville Memorial Hall in October, bringing local readers, families and collectors together while helping support Lifeline services across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore.
Running from Thursday 1 October to Sunday 4 October 2026, the four-day community event will offer thousands of quality pre-loved books across categories including fiction, children’s books and collectables.
CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, games and puzzles will also be available, giving people of different ages and interests a range of donated and pre-loved items to browse.
Forestville Book Fair Supports Community Services
Purchases made during the Forestville Book Fair will help Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli deliver crisis support, suicide prevention and other locally provided services.
Those services extend across the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore and include counselling, financial counselling, support groups, Lifeline Connect, training and an aged care companion program.
The organisation also contributes to Lifeline’s national Crisis Support service, supporting people experiencing emotional distress, feeling overwhelmed or going through a crisis.
Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli has worked in the local community since 1968.

Volunteers Help Sustain Local Lifeline Work
Community involvement extends beyond those attending the fair. More than 680 volunteers work alongside Lifeline staff and its local board across crisis support, local services, shops, book fairs and other events.
That volunteer network helps support both Lifeline’s service delivery and local fundraising activities, including book fairs where proceeds contribute to its work across surrounding communities.
The Forestville event gives residents and visitors an opportunity to take part through the purchase of pre-loved books and other items, while the funds raised support services delivered locally.
Four Days At Forestville Memorial Hall
The fair will begin with an early bird session from 8am to 11am on Thursday 1 October, with entry costing $10.
General entry will follow from 11am to 6pm on Thursday for a gold coin donation.
The fair will then open from 9am to 6pm on Friday 2 October and Saturday 3 October.
The final day will run from 9am to 3pm on Sunday 4 October, with general entry continuing by gold coin donation.
Across the four days, the Forestville Book Fair will combine a community book-shopping event with support for Lifeline’s crisis, counselling and other locally delivered services.
