A series of incidents across Forestville between Saturday, 23 May and Wednesday, 27 May kept emergency services and police busy, with reports ranging from disorderly behaviour and theft to a traffic collision on one of the suburb’s busiest roads.
Police were called to Melwood Avenue shortly before 10pm on Saturday, 23 May, following reports of a group of disorderly youths gathering in the area. Details about the size of the group or whether any offences were detected have not been released.
In a separate incident just hours later, shortly after 2.30am on Sunday, 24 May, police received reports of a person allegedly failing to pay at a service station on Warringah Road. No further details about the vehicle or amount involved were provided.
Emergency crews were also called to Warringah Road later that morning after a fire alarm was activated at a property in Forestville. Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Forestville Station arrived just after 9.15am on Sunday, 24 May, and confirmed there was no fire or smoke present, determining the alarm to be false.
Traffic disruptions followed on Monday, 25 May, after a two-vehicle collision on Warringah Road just before 4.30pm. While no injuries were reported, northbound traffic experienced delays for around 30 minutes as authorities worked to clear the scene.
Police were again called to Forestville early on Wednesday, 27 May, after reports of property being stolen from a vehicle parked on Lurnea Crescent. The incident was reported shortly before 12.30am.
The incidents form part of a broader snapshot of recent police and emergency service activity across the suburb.
