Emergency services rescued an elderly driver following a three-vehicle collision that caused significant traffic disruption on Warringah Rd on the afternoon of October 23.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 PM outside the Metro petrol station on Warringah Road, when a Subaru hatchback collided with the rear of a Mazda station wagon driven by a woman in her eighties. The impact caused one of the vehicles to strike a boat and trailer being towed by a Ford Ranger utility vehicle.

Forestville Fire Brigade responded to the scene, where they assisted in freeing the elderly woman from her damaged Mazda and cleaned up an oil spill resulting from the collision. Local police were forced to close two of the three eastbound lanes while emergency services worked.

The closure created substantial traffic delays, with congestion extending approximately four kilometres across the Roseville Bridge into Roseville Chase.

Both the elderly woman and the Subaru driver, a man in his thirties, were transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in Frenchs Forest with what NSW Ambulance described as minor injuries. The ute driver escaped unharmed, though their boat and trailer sustained damage and required removal by a flat-bed truck.
