The Liberal State Government has proposed the replication of the B-Line bus service system to benefit Forestville and the rest of the Northern Beaches community. The plan involves setting up a stop by Warringah Road and Starkey Streets, which will connect commuters from Dee Why to Chatswood.
According to Manly MP James Griffin, eight other stops are included in the proposed Dee Why-Chatswood bus service system, aside from Forestville. These are:
- Dee Why B-Line Stop – Pittwater Road at Howard Avenue
- Narraweena – Warringah Road at Alfred Street
- Beacon Hill – Warringah Road at Willandra Road
- Frenchs Forest Business Park – Warringah Road at Jones Street
- Northern Beaches Hospital – Frenchs Forest Road West
- Forest Way Shopping Centre
- Roseville Chase – Babbage Road at Allan Street
- Chatswood Interchange
Mr Griffin said that once this service is in place, buses from Dee Why to Chatswood will be “running every 10 minutes between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week.”
The proposal, however, hinges on the upcoming elections if the Liberals get re-elected.
“This will be a game changer for so many of our residents who work along the Dee Why to Chatswood corridor,” Mayor Michael Regan said in a press statement.
“It will encourage cars off the road and improve journey times for long-suffering commuters along this route.”
