A run of police reports in Forestville during the second half of August included theft, an alleged assault and disorder, while emergency crews were also called to several crashes.
Monday, 17 August brought two separate police matters.
The first came from Aldinga Place, where property was reported stolen from premises shortly after 3.45pm. Later that evening, just before 7.30pm, officers were called to Vines Avenue following a report that a person had been assaulted.
There were another two reports the following day. Police were alerted to a group of disorderly youths gathered near Starkey Street shortly before 6.45pm on Tuesday, while property was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Forestville Avenue just before 8.30pm.
Attention Turns to the Roads
By Thursday, 20 August, the incidents being reported had shifted largely to Forestville’s roads.
A motor vehicle collision was reported on Starkey Street shortly after 1.00am. Later that day, just before 8.00pm, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and Forestville firefighters were called to a two-car crash on Warringah Road near Ryrie Avenue.
No injuries were reported, although the disruption lasted considerably longer than the emergency response itself. Traffic in both directions was delayed for about 45 minutes while tow trucks removed the vehicles.
Four days later, emergency crews were called back to the same stretch of Warringah Road.
Two cars had collided near Ryrie Avenue shortly after 2.45pm on Monday, 24 August. A woman in her 80s was treated by paramedics for an arm injury and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.
The two Warringah Road crashes, occurring only four days apart near Ryrie Avenue, were separate incidents.
